Slammin Salmon Fishing Adventures & Guide Service
is located
in Soldotna, Alaska
on the beautiful, world-famous Kenai River! Soldotna is located approximately 149 driving miles south of Anchorage,
on the spectacular Kenai Peninsula. Or, if you choose, you can take
a 20 minute flight out of Anchorage. Personally, I think not driving
the Seward Highway south to Soldotna would be a mistake. The Seward
Highway is known worldwide for it's breath-taking scenery and majestic
beauty.
For 149 miles, this road from Anchorage to Soldotna
winds through a land of remarkable beauty, saltwater bays, many natural
waterfalls,
frigid-blue glaciers, knife-edged ridges and alpine valleys. From
the reflective waters of Turnagain Arm, travelers rapidly ascend
1,000 feet above sea level to an alpine meadow, shadowed by beautiful
snow-capped peaks. Within a few hours, you will find yourself back
at sea level surrounded by Soldotna's friendly community with a
wide array of hotels, restaurants, and unique shops. This is what you
can expect when travelling the Seward/Sterling Highways. Once in Soldotna,
you can choose from any one
of the
fine
hotels or bed & breakfasts the town has to offer, or if needed,
I can arrange lodging for you.
Well,
let's talk about what I do. I operate a fully-loaded Willie Predator
for you and your family
and/or friends. I furnish you with
all the equipment you need to catch
the fish of a lifetime. All you need to do is show up with a fishing
license, some warm clothes,
and beverages of your choice and we're ready to go! I will take
you
to some of the most popular fishing holes on the Kenai River, and
some of my personal secret holes. Not only will I take
you fishing, but I will also be your local tour guide once on the
river,
as the river is a community of its own. Even if it's one of "those" days
fishing, you will have the "trip" of your life while
enjoying the fresh air and beauty of the Kenai River.
On the river you not
only get to fish, but you may see the occassional moose, caribou,
river otter, brown bear, bald eagles, and more seagulls
that you will ever care to see in a lifetime. If we happen
to be fishing the lower river on an incoming tide, you might
also
get
to see seals chasing salmon up the river. And let me tell you,
a fight
between a seal and a salmon can get very interesting. |
